So beautiful. So haunting.

How weird to see a station in the middle of a field ! Is it now abandoned and decayed or is it a view of my mind ?

13 Feb 2012 8:08am

@Florence: It has been empty for at least 20 years and is privately owned.

My first thought: Great Organs ready to play an Apocalyptic Symphonia........Excellent !!!

Once a symbol of hope, now a grand decaying edifice. Let's hope some use (and renovation money) can be found for this imposing structure. Love your brooding, apocalyptic treatment here.

Beautifully framed against the rather dramatic sky! Well done Ralph! ;-)

Fantastic b&w! I love the detail of the building and the sky!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

This is awesome! That sky, the lines of the grass or wheat (?), and the texture and lines of this building! Perfect in BW. A truly great photo; this one belongs in a gallery, somewhere pricey.

Fantastic. I love that "in your face" perspective.

The clouds say it all! I like the way they balance against the upright lines in the ornamental grass, with the building separating the two. Now I see that guest Viewfinder says the same thing just above. Nicely done.

I have seen this building in photos before, but not this nice.

Is it still standing? I recall some time ago when you stated that the building was in danger of being demolished. A great PoV taken of this building with a sky so animated with the clouds.
