And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Another great misty silhouetted building in Detroit.

Ralph, I finally was able to share your Heros documentary with my husband. I think I've said before, that he is a retired FF from a small city in CT. Your photos are riveting, showing those to run in, when others are running away, as you so eloquently wrote. The facts and figures on the size of Detroit and the declining numbers add to the drama of your piece. We applaud you for your recognition. Judy & Mike

For some reason, when I look at these, I hear a low hum of machinery. Must be the power generated by the City.

Thanks, Ralph, from Mike. Admittedly, we're both happy that our small city didn't have very many bad fires and Mike's life wasn't threatened the way so many are. His time turned to medical rescue for the last of his service and in that venue, it was emotionally draining, but again, not like active fire-fighting. Bless all who serve!

What an image of drama Ralph! Simple composition yet I'm drawn into the image after just a glance! I could imagine this was quite a tricky scene and you did it beautifully! Have a lovely weekend!:-)
